So I'm considering to start to fletch my own arrows. I'm curious how many of you fletch your own arrows and if so, what jig do you prefer? I've heard Bitzenburger is the best but they are also the most expensive. I'm wondering if some of the Bohning or other jigs work just as well. I'm ok with paying for a quality product but don't need to spend unnecessarily. Any info or advice you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a bitz for years and years, modified a clamp and it's prefect for any hunting arrow I will build. I also have an AAE mini, and I like that for some applications as well

I've used a bitz, and now own a Arizona EZ fletch mini. Just ordered bohnings helix tower jig, any of those three I'd recommend but I think you'll get the most life out of a bitz since its all metal

Thanks for the help guys. Sounds like the Bitz is one to use. Much appreciated!

agree with the longevity of the all-metal Bitzenburger plus it provides the widest range of adjustment between straight and right and left helical and the degree of offset.

I did a thread here on how to make modified bitz clamp to get closer to a full three degree helical with shorter vanes.

I bought a Bitz about 1982. Never used anything else. It works perfect for me.

I've used them all in various shops I worked at years ago. The Bitz is nice, but I really like the newer Vane Master Pro from Last Chance. If I were to buy another one that's what I'd probably go with.

I've got a Jo Jan Multi-Fletcher with both straight and helical clamps that has fletched probably thousands of arrows and it works quite well also. Just not as many bells/whistles as the Bitz or Last Chance.

for ease of use and being able to do 3 vanes at a time i really like my arizona EZ-Fletch mini. Puts a really nice helical on shorter vanes and only about $45

Thanks for keeping the comments coming everyone. Now I have a few choices to look at. It would be really nice to be able to do all 3 vanes at one time. I'll look into some of those. Thanks again!

Dang the Vane Master Pro better be nice for $240! That's a little more than I was looking to spend. Although having something that lasts a while and is a quality products does say something.

I have used Bitz and they are nice for sure. I sold mine years ago because I was using my Jo-Jan a lot more at the time because it was faster. I then also sold that multi fletch and downsized to a mono because I stopped fletching so many arrows. I currently have a Jo-Jan mono fletch, Bohning Pro Fletch (think cheaper plastic Bitz), and an Arizona EZ Fletch mini I love for Blazers.

I just fletched my first 3 arrows this past weekened. I got myself the Arizona EZ fletch mini and it worked pretty good. Granted I wont fletch many arrows very often so it fits me perfect. The biggest downfall is keeping it clean I think. I've read that soaking it in acetone for 5 mins and using a brush will clean it right up though.

Had a less expensive jig when I started out. It was ok. Sold it and bought bitzenberger. Been going strong for over 15 years now.

Thats what i do with my arizona ez fletch. i just bought some acetone and poured it into a quart canning jar and after fletching i just drop my jig into the jar and let sit an hour or more depending on how gummed up it is and when i pull it out all the glue is off and its perfectly clean and just put the lid on the jar to use next time. work smarter not harder is say haha
