What's yardage do you use on a 3 pin site is it 10,20,30 yards? Or 20,30,40 yards? 2015 Diamond infinite edge.. new to archery new to deer hunting..
I use 20 30 40. I've tried several different configurations and always end up coming back to the "old standard"
Since I'm just starting out in archery should I do 10,20,30? 2015 Diamond infinite edge.. new to archery new to deer hunting..
I wouldn't use a 10yard pin. There isn't a need for it. If your going to use three pin sight and don't want a pin past 30 you would be better served with a 20,25, 30 pin set up. Your 25 yard pin will be more feasible then a 10 yard or even a 15 yard pin.
I agree a 20 yard pin will be very accurate at 10 yards with a little practice. My first pin is 25 and I just hold about 2 inches low at under 15 with great results. Practice shooting longer distances will make close targets a breeze. About 2 years ago I started shooting all the way out to 100 yards, not because I will ever shoot an animal at that distance, but it has shrunk my 40 yard groups in half very easily.
Tryed shooting 20 today and getting it set up..a rooms was going all over the place 2015 Diamond infinite edge.. new to archery new to deer hunting..
Where did you get this bow? Is it tuned to you or you just get it from a friend. Maybe you should start at an Archery Proshop and make sure your set-up is solid before shooting too much.
Nobody else find it odd than the OP first joined in 2012 and is just now getting his first bow and making his first posts?
Sometimes life happens. It's happened to me where I begin an interest in something, but priorities lock me down. As to the post count, there are so many people that would make things better if they read more and posted less. Just my .02
When I first got my infinite edge & start shooting I started at 10yrds & I wasn't getting good groups, then I found out the cams was out of time. Once I got the cams in time it shot ok. Then I wouldnt practice at 20 till I had good groups & so on out to 40. As in pins 20, 30, & 40. Make sure you have the right arrow spine, good anchor point & not to have a death grip on the bow causing torque.
What weight are you pulling? I would suggest if you can't get a decent grouping at 20 yards, don't even worry about pin 2 or 3. I'd move them as far out of the way as I could. Than pick a range you are comfortable shooting whether 10,15,20 yards and set pin 1 for that range. Keep shooting that range until you can shoot a good 2-3" group consistently, than move back and adjust that pin for the new distance until you get to where you determine you need for your hunting. If you are pulling a low weight, you might be good at 15, 20, 25. Higher weight, I would suggest 20,30,40.
Remmett70 gave some solid advice. Here is what I do with my 4 pin sight with me pulling just a hair over 50 lbs. Pins are set at 15, 25, 30, 40. My 15 yard pin is good from 10-20 yards. I use to run a typical 20, 30, 40 set up but found my pin gap between 20 and 30 to be so big that I had a hard time gap shooting.
I'm deadly at 10 yards lol can pit all 6 in bulls eye...Gonna try 20 and move sights so I'm only seeing 1 and not 3 2015 Diamond infinite edge.. new to archery new to deer hunting..
