Looking at picking up this climber for next season. For anyone that has it, does the sit bar get in the way? Is there enough room move your legs around a bit or is it constrictive? Can the bar flip down enough that it doesn't get in the way when you go to make a shot? Other pros or cons?
Don't know about the fliptop but I have the wide sit and climb. It is an all-around awesome stand with plenty of room to move around. The only problem I have is it does not pack near as nice as the standard. You have to have third hand archery straps to make it fit tight together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't have any problems with mine. I put it out in front of me and it helps me feel when I am at the end of the platform. I see your location is PA. If you are near the pittsburgh area you could try mine out before investing the money into one
Why didn't you just buy a handclimber if you were going to take the sit bar off of a sit and climb style climber? I know on my LW sit and climb wide the bar folds back under the seat and out of the way. I used a LW handclimber since 2009 and like an open front now. So I only use the bar for climbing them spin it out of the way.
For whatever it's worth, if you go to adjust the angle of your stand (sit and climb) on the way up, you had better have that sit bar available to make this possible, because you can't do it without it.
Thanks for the feedback. If it can be flipped back out of the way, then it probably won't be an issue. But it also sounds like there is plenty of room in front of you as well. Can't wait to get one.
I talked to the guys at Lone Wolf on this exact issue. They told me they have had several stands back that guys take the bar off that the stand bent. That bar has a purpose and it is for support on the front end of the stand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jared the owner of Lone Wolf told me the arms of the stand bent because people were taking the front bar off. It is for support as well as sitting on.
