It seems like every time I shoot I have to make some sight adjustment. I typically shoot 2-3 ends before considering an adjustment. I always end up making some adjustment though. Is this typical? Making sight adjustments every session. Or should I be able to "set it and forget it?" Thanks! EP
Yes you should be able to set an forget it! Do u store your bow in a case? Also what needs adjusting? The individual pins or the entire housing?
I have that problem sometimes and it's usually me that needs the adjustment. I will shoot to the right once in a while. It's usually a problem with my grip on the bow.
I agree with Max. If it's every time like that, I'm guessing it has to do with your form. Top three culprits IMO: Grip, anchor, and follow through.
I was afraid it was something like that. I currently do not have a case but I have one on the way! Thansk for the help.
DO you use a peep and or kisser button? Is there any pattern to the adjustments? Mainly I would work on finding a consistent anchor, say a knuckle at the back of your check bone. Something that helps to make sure you are consistent in your anchor. I also pick a peep that is sized to cover my entire sight housing. That way it is easy to make sure it is centered each shot.
I shoot a 3/16 peep sight. I don't use a kisser but have a knot of serving that rests on the tip of my nose. As far as readjustment, it usually only takes one. Almost always down and to the left.
Today I was shooting and hitting about 1" to the right every time at between 10-20 yards.... Adjusted my grip on the bow slightly and I'm back to punching center of the turkeys neck... In archery it's the little things!
Unless something is moving it is you. I got a new sight Saturday and got it all set on Sunday. Just in time to turkey hunt Wednesday. Now that the sight is set I don't see moving the pins for thousands of shots (months). Not until I get new strings or another new sight. Nobody seems to make the sight I want.
