So I'm going to a single slider style sight over my traditional 5 pin sight. My thoughts are I currently am only using the top couple pin and hardly see shots over 30 yards. Anyways... for those who use them, do you like the yardage markers in the front or the back. Let me elaborate- seems there are 2 different styles. One with the yardage indicator in the back (behind the riser at the rear of the sight) and one with the indicator in the front (in front of the riser). Bow will pretty much be 100% hunting rig if that matters.

If hunting you can not beat the brightness of the HHA from my experience. I have a DS-XL5519 and I lose sight of the target before the pin goes dim. But I like the yardage indicator on the back because its less hand movement if I have to move it.

I'm pretty sure it is. The beauty of the Hogg Father is that you can put just about any of the better sight housings on it. I was intrigued by the Spot Hogg double pin housing when I first saw it, but I need more practice with the single-pin first.

I use a single pin system and I have it zero'ed in at 30 yards. If the target is 20 yards, I have about a inch low.. if they are at 40 yards, I aim an inch high. With practice, you should be able to use a single pin w/o adjusting for yardage on each shot. It isn't a perfect style, but I don't have to adjust for each shot and having 1 pin, I don't need to stop to think if I am using the correct pin or not. I am usually shooting 280-290 on a 3-D course.
