I am looking into getting a set of Easton ST Axis FMJ arrows. I will be shooting 28" arrows with a Bowtech RPM 360 set at around 65 lbs. My question is about the spine. For this set up are 340, or 400 the correct spine. I have seen charts that say both. This leaves me wondering which to get. Thanks for the help.
IMHO... I'd purchase the 340's - spin on a 125gr head (to increase the FOC & loosen up the spine a tad) and hit the range. But sometimes I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Get the 340s. You are going to go nuts over these arrows. I have been using them for years now. I have had a pass thru on EVERY deer I have shot with this arrow.
I shot the 400s cut to 27 3/4" out of my carbon element set at 72# for a few years and it worked well for me. I did switch to 340 now for when I get my CS ZT turbo. If I was you I think I'd get the 340s.
As said go with the 340's because if their too stiff you can go 125. It's a great arrow, and my choice for hunting. I just try not to shoot to many targets with them because it's expensive when they bend.
Thanks guys. If I use a 125g broad head I will be around 500 g for an arrow weight. Is that a little to heavy? Also, KJjKlump what do you mean by to stiff? And how would I know that I would have to switch? Thanks again.
thats the arrow i shoot out of my insanity. hits the target with authority! because of that bow you need the spine of 340. 400 is too weak. 500 gr is perfect. it slowed my bow down a bit but my bow is also quieter. you wont notice too much in trajectory with the heavier arrows.
