I've been having to raise and lower my sight depending on the temps. Specifically, if my bow has been in my truck all day (cold) it shoots lower than if it's been in the house. And it's not just by a little... 5 or 6 inches at 20 yds. I'm assuming it's the string expanding/contracting. I have a Creed with a Mathews string. I know people are real high on Winner's Choice strings. Anybody else have this issue and would a change string brand make a difference?

Never leave a a bow in a car all day, even with quality strings. That is the quickest way to destroy a set of strings. If it is unavoidable, do not leave in a plastic case. Lay a blanket over it, lay in the floor if possible and Crack a window if it's warm outside.
I basically agree that most all stock strings are junk. I definitely agree that bowstringdepot.com has some excellent strings at a great price and top notch service. I recommend trophy material. Best I have ever used.
These guys are telling it like it is, HEAT IS THE NUMBER ONE KILLER OF STRING MATERIAL!! Major reason! strings are made up of fiber and wax heat breaks it all down. Trophy, X are my number one sellers. Longer lasting and stable. Trophy being my total number one in sales. As far as expanding and contracting on the string I would have to say its more so the bow being cold and the bearings being cold along with the string wax being cold and making the bow and string less flexible. Most factory strings are trash. Though, some bow makers do put very good strings on their bows. I just bought a new Bowtech this year that came with Octane strings and I've been very impressed with them. No creep or peep turning after about 10 shots. I know Elite uses Winners Choice strings which are also high end. The absolute best thing you can do for any bow is use a high quality set of strings and cables from folks like Vaportail, Winners Choice, Bowstring Depot, etc. They're pre stretched and built correctly. It astounds me that bow companies for one, will build a $1K bow and put $20 dollar strings on them. You have to remember, that the strings and cables are what holds your bow together, keeps cams timed and sync'd and also keeps the bow in tune. If they are stretching and creeping all the time, all of those settings go out the window. Regardless of string maker, heat will kill any of them. DO NOT leave your bow in a hot vehicle, period. Its destructive to not only the strings, but components on your bow like limbs, etc.
i also have problem with string..its made from trophy material..and when is warm outside the peep rotate to right...when is cold hi rotate in left...cant figure why? now in cold i must add half turn on string to straight peep..in summer again untwist the string...i am dissapointed..its custom build string not factory..
It may be a custom built string, but most likely is not built using methods to eliminate stretch. What is happening is the strands of the string are stretching and contracting in different temperatures. This makes the whole string unstable and causes the peep sight to rotate one way or another. It's mostly likely effecting the overall tune of the bow as well. Good string makers such as Vaportrail, Winners Choice, etc., to name a few, use methods to stretch the individual strands under high tension. They then build the string using this pre stretched material. The result is a string that after 20 shots or so, is stable and will not stretch or creep any longer, eliminating peep rotation, etc.
It could be as simple as not being served correctly as well. Improper serving causes lots of settling issues.

my string is from bow string depot...not satisfied with that peep rotation...and center serving is little separate..
Is the loop twisting? I've had 3 bowstringdepot strings and all are rock solid. The latest took a little longer to settle because it was a pin striped string but still locked in pretty quick.
Sorry is this is redundant as I didnt read through all the responses. For the most part factory strings suck, and Mathews are some of the worst. A string replacement is in order for sure. That said I am not sure I can blame it all on your stings, there is usually more too it if your having that much variance. You might be getting slop in your bearing and axel from contraction do the cold, couple that with a crappy string and there you go. I would start with a string replacement and work from there. Go with solid sting builder, do a search on here and the same names will come up over and over..for good reason. Good luck.
