I hope this question doesn't sound to stupid. I have to turn my bow down in draw weight. I am a few years past 50 and I guess age is catching up to me. My question is I have been shooting 340 spine arrows. I am putting my draw weight down to 55lbs. Do I need to change my arrows spine or will my 340's do okay.

A .340" will be doable but a .400" wold be better.

^^^ I agree. Unless your shooting almost full length shafts .340 at 55 is almost always going to be really stiff...unless your adding a bunch of weight up front....which backing down to 55 adding more weight might not be desirable.
I am not make due kind of person, so if it was me I would get a dozen .400's and call it a day.

You could put a ton of weight up front to get a nice heavy arrow, good FOC and it would weaken the spine a little. That's what I would do

Depends on how long your arrow is. I shoot a 31" arrow at 54lb and a 125 head and a 340 works but I'm right on the line. Next time I'm either going to leave arrows full length or add 50 grains maybe both. I think it would make my set up a little less finicky.
