How long does a stabilizer usually need to be, to be effective? What are advantages to using one. Suggestions on brands?
It's different for every bow. Personally mine likes 10 inches with 4 ounces of weight out front. Took a lot of experimentation to find what worked best for me. Same with brands. If you have a good shop that will let you try some that will be your best bet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This season I'm not using anything except a short S-Coil for vibration and sound reduction. Me and my bow get along great without anything for stabilization. The past few I was using a 10" Stokerized with 1oz up front and it worked great. It took about 6 different tries with 6 different stabilizers before I was happy. As max said, it depends in the bow and shooter. I know a number of people that use a 10-12" up front with a 6" side bar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Honestly anything under 10 inches is just weight to the bow. Find a bar that is the weight you want and roll with it.Dampners of any sort will help. There is no difference in a 2 inch or 10 inch. You are not getting the weight and leverage away from the bow.
I tried a few different stabilizers out this spring and to me the fuse carbon blade 10" seemed the best. I had a 7" octane before and I thought it made my bow quiet and reduced vibration pretty well, but afterwards I compared it to shooting with the carbon blade and can't even compare the two. The fuse kills vibration and noise like no other. But was also around $150 I believe
I have a 10" Bee Stinger on mine with 4oz weight. Seems to help the balance pretty well. I went to my local shop and tried about 4 or 5 before buying the one I have.
