I figured I would start this thread so you guys can post new mods or tech to your bow.

I swapped out the James Green gator release and put a D loop on my bow today. Im new to bow hunting and found out through research that the D loop is the way to go. I got a tru-fire release to go with it.

Since I got a new bow Ill post what I got..
Hoyt Faktor 30, QAD release, fuse carbon stabilizer, Fuse micro sight, 2 piece hoyt quiver, bemen ICS hunter shafts.

Hope Im not posting this in the wrong section.

Do you work on your bow yourself? D-loop is definitely the way to go but it's personal preference. I recommend you serve in a nock set after you break your string in to prevent your loop from creeping without knowing it.

Installed a new loop... with both top and bottom nock. I like to keep a 1/8 inch pigtail and serve it down to prevent any rotation of my loop/peep. Tried to go back to fingers but just can't get the accuracy I used to have.

New strings, which means new peep, loop and retune tomorrow. Love tuning my bow. [IMG][IMG]

I put a half twist in my string to rotate my peep site a bit.

I keep my rig as simple as possible. I'd rather shoot all day than tune half a day. The only time I have to tune and resight is when I put a new string on.

Did a lot today. After installing the new strings threw the bow in the vice. Used an arrow square and set the arrow at 90 degree angle to the string running through the berger hole. Then put it in the draw board and got zero cam lean at full draw. And the thing perfect with the top cam advanced 1/16. Then put it on the scale and it maxed at 68.26 (65 pound max limbs). Played with the speed nock location and got an extra 5 fps over stock. Chronoed at 68.26/28 inches with a 421 grain arrow at 289-291! Also installed a loop and a tied in kisser(prefer it more than a crimp on kisser). Will shoot it 25 more times than install the peep to ensure against rotation.[IMG][IMG]
Will French tune, then bareshaft tomorrow. Should be good to go then!

And love these speed nocks. They are the TPU speed nocks by Ray knight in archery talk. They are also on eBay. Look great, gain speed over stock, and are much quieter than the metal nocks![IMG]

I shipped my APA to Ultimate finishers in NY to have it re done in kolorfusion so i had to take the bow down to bare riser that was a little chore. I will post up pics when i get it back hopefully this week but not 100% sure also built some new strings and cables out of Brownell Rhino so it should be good to go for late season

Started shooting heavier arrows again... 2219s and now am shooting 1 1/4 Snuffers with pinpoint accuracy. Unbelievable the difference heavy arrows make on accuracy, hand shock, sound level and clean arrow flight.

I had fought with tuning issues constantly ever since switching to carbons... I am back to heavy arrows and will never even consider going back to light arrows.

50 yard shooting is down to less than 2 inches with no warm up shots.

    You are awesome..

Tat was just an exceptionally nice group for me... and with no wind. I wouldn't expect it every time.

Here's some new updates. Side plates were too thick for me, found this stick at target and it's great. Keeps the grip warm, provides good grip and is nice and thin.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
