Just wondering what most are shooting this year. My finished arrow weight is 417grs and I am starting to wonder if I should step up in weight since I'm shooting mechanical broadheads now. The bow is hoyt faktor 34 29"dl set at 68lbs. Arrows are gold tip velocity xt 300 with a 125grain grim reaper fatal steel 1.5inch cut.

Last season I was using GT pro hunters with a 1.75" Grim reaper on a 60# bow. arrow weight was 380 gr. and pass thru were common.

I think you'll find mine are "light" from most on this site. I'm right at about 400-403 grains finished.

At those specs you won't see any problems with penetration with a 417 grain arrow. Right now my arrows weigh in at 446 with 125 grain heads and 421 with 100 grain heads. These are coming from my faktor turbo

445gr, I`d lighten them up if my state didn`t have the 6 gr per lb rule.

I designed my latest arrows to stay between 11 and 15% foc and range between 430 and 495 grains. That's swapping from 75-125 grain heads and std nock or lumenoks. My speed range is from 280 to just over 300 fps.

Judging by responses mine aren't too terribly light. They fly great and the deer here aren't huge so I'm gonna stick with it. I gotta ask those of you with the 500 plus grain arrows are you hunting large game with them or just deer?
