If I start without the rest pre cocked, everything is fine. If I pre cock the rest by putting it in the up position, when I draw, the rest makes a quick twitch just before full draw. It makes an audible click when this happens. Like I said, only when pre loaded. Other than this, the rest is still shooting fine. Any ideas?

It's almost like it's disengaging too early. Could it be anything to do with the length of the cord going to the cable?

You're all good! The rest is operating like it is designed. Ripcords fall away on a letdown, so there is an internal sear that will both hold it in the up position, and let it fall. What is happening is as you draw back with the rest already loaded, you reach the point at the end of the draw cycle where that sear disengages now that your cable is holding the rest up. That click you hear is the sear operating. It is quiet when you dont preload the rest because the sear never has to engage, it just utilizes tension from the down cable.

How loud of click? I'll try and get mine out this weekend but I don't remember hearing any click on mine (I've had a few ripcords now)

My hearing must be really bad. I have never heard a rip cord click!

I've had mine for two years. I just noticed it, not sure if it's been that way all along. It's definitely loud enough to get you busted drawing if it's quiet.
