    Questions...

    1. How many sticks do people use? (if more than three, how do you fasten them together since the LW comes with a short strap only for securing about 3 sticks?)

    2. How do you pack, sticks, stand, pack and bow in?
    Thanks, T

I take 4. Mine had a long enough strap to fit 4 stocks but I bought a 4 pack when I bought mine. It's just a nut that holds the strap on so I'm sure you can put a longer one on.

    2. My sticks and my stand get strapped together and go on my back. I use a Red Head pack that fairly large but not overly bulky. It carries water, tree hook, calls, range finder, rope, knife, and saw. That goes around my waiste. Then I just carry my bow.

This is what my stand looks like when packing. The thick 2" strap is actually the tree strap for the stand I just wrap out around the sticks. The skinny strap towards the bottom goes around the stand and sticks. It's actually what is holding the stand closed during pack in.

As mentioned prior the LW strap keeps 4 together. Here's how I roll. [IMG]

Will have to see how that works with my set up. The flatter profile would be nice.

Also, you can always buy more strapping and the plastic clips (like LE uses to hold sticks together) from a craft store, if you want to better balance the load. I know I've seen them in AC Moore-note.

Agreed... LW mounting has the sticks stick way out the back.

I use four sticks stacked and don't have any problem with it at all. I attach my pack next to the sticks and either carry my bow or use a bow sling. I use a small ratchet strap to secure the pack and sticks as I hunt some fairly rough terrain at times. I often hike 1.5 to 2 miles into the area I hunt and this system works great.
