TEmbry: Looking for info on how they fly and cut. They are quieter than the rages that I use but they flew high and to the left. I think I need to tune the bow for them and I know there is great info on the site about that topic. Shooting a PSE Axe at 60# with GT Velocity 400's.

For me I had to tune a little to get them to fly the same as my field points, the standards anyways. I started using them last year and had a new bow at the same time so I wasn't surprised when I had to do some adjusting. Once things were adjusted I would shoot two broadheaded arrows and a field tipped one through deer season to make sure things stayed the same. Didn't notice any difference in noise and as far as how they cut it put a real nice hole in the side of my buck, center punched one rib on near side and complete pass through into a log out of a 57 lb. Creed at a little over 10 yards.

I have shot the Slick Trick Mags and use either them or a QAD exodus to broadhead tune. They tune easily from my experience if you are close to center shot and tuned. Blood trails are good but always replace the blades once you shoot something to keep the edge.

Had to make minute adjustments when i got them, made a bad shot last year and hit a deer right in the scapula it stopped in the opposite shoulder, deer went down in 30 yards, it sounded like .22 rimfire when the arrow hit the deer.

Copperhead and lowcountry: what kind of tuning did you need to do? I have not tuned a bow and am hesitant to try with the season opener a month away.

The slick trick mags are a great head. Fly right where m field points are. Very durable. Been able to resharpen them even after a pass thru and then hitting a rock.
Been getting slug holes with them

Awesome heads! hard hitting, very sturdy and fool proof. If they'll take down a 1000 pound african animal, they'll do just fine on a deer! Ive used them for years and love them

I'm 2 for 3 with the Mags. Penetration is top notch with these heads. 2/3 on pass throughs also. They are built rock solid and come scary sharp. They fly like fp's also. 2 deer went maybe 50-60 yards before piling up. The other I shot out at 40 yards, buried the arrow but it was back too far. Found the broke off arrow but we never found the doe in the marsh. My 1 complaint, which has me contemplating switching heads, is I'm not getting blood trails at all with these. The two deer I killed with them were shot in the lungs and bled internally, there was barely blood around the entrance or exit holes. I'm gonna give them one more chance to produce some decent blood trails. I sharpened these up and ran them over some leather, so they are ridiculously sharp. Hopefully this works!!

there is a tuning section on slick tricks website but its kinda complicated if you havent worked on bows that much. i would go to a reputable archery shop and paper tune it before making any adjustments. i shoot the slicktrick razer tricks they fly just like my field points, they have a smaller diameter but leave a quiet big hole.
