I shoot a pse stinger and the string stopper is REALLY loud when the string hits it. I've tried adjusting either further or closer to the string but nothing helps. Any ideas on how to quiet it down?

Its a budget bow. It is going to be loud to some extent no matter what you do. That said, its a great bow and youll have no problem killing some deer with it

I've always wondered about the benefit of a string stop. I have a Mathews Creed with a string stop and it's louder than my Mission Eliminator II was without one. Common sense says that putting a rod on the bow for the string to smack into will only make it louder, but I'm no bow expert.

Perhaps purchasing a new absorption pad for it will help. Is the current one hardened via oxidation or age?

I've only had the bow for just over a year. I've tried taking the string stop off and I don't think its really any better so I put it back on. I took it to the shop yesterday and the guy moved the stop so its actually touching the string and it seemed to help. He also put some string leeches on and that helped even more. So, hopefully problem solved.

I liked string leeches for about a month. But mine broke off quickly. They just can't withstand a good amount of shooting.
