3 pin adjustable sight help

I just bought a 3 pin adjustable sight and I was wondering where I should set each pin.
How would you set this up?

 

I guess I don't understand the question, but I'll give it a shot.

Set your top pin at 20 yards

Set you middle pin at 30 yards

Set your bottom pin at 40 yards

 

I have my pins at 20-30-40. My adjustable sight lets me use the 40 as my float out to at least 80

 

I saw where another guy on here said he put his pins at 22, 35, and 50. I had mine set at 20, 30, and 40 but I am going to try this new way so I can get a little more reach. Chances are I won't short a deer past 35 yards or so but I want to be able to shoot further

 

I also forgot to say I hated how close my pins were and I'm only shooting a 26/60 so they aren't as clustered anymore

 

I have been setting mine at 20, 35 and 50 for maybe 10 years now. I will shoot at an animal at 40 or less. I can use the 50 for a follow up shot at 50+ and target shoot at 60. I don't like the clutter also and have less pins to search through when the adrenaline is pumping. I also put the top pin just above the center of the pin-guard for an open field of view for 20-30 yards (which is 95+% of my hunting shots).

 

I just got a MBG Acent 3-Pin and have been wondering the same thing. I will either got 20/30/40 or 20/30/50. The advantage of going with the 20/30/50 is that when you float your third pin out to a further distance that it will be easier to shoot. The more space between your 2nd and 3rd pins means less pin blurr, which would be nice at far distances.

 

I'm doing the 20, 30 and 40 thing. With my 40 being the floater too.

 

I have my first pin at 30 then 40,50,60. Reason for 30 is the bow shoots pretty flat. The difference between 20 and 30 is an inch and a half. This is what is leading me to going with a single pin. Have not decided on that yet though.

 

I've got a 5 pin at 20, 30, 40, 50 & 60. Sometimes seems cluttered but it seems to work so far. Fitz do you have 2 different sights or does your 3 pin actually let you adjust your 3rd pin on the fly to different yardages like a single pin?

I like it because it's the best of both worlds. 3 (or 5) pin fixed site, but you can use the bottom pin and dial as a floater out to further yardages

 

It mostly depends on the speed of your bow and where you like your pins to be.

I shot for a few years at 25, 40, 50. Now with a different sight and heavier arrow, I'm at 25, 35, 45...

 

I looked at their web site last night and they sound great. Last question, hopefully... Does the bottom pin move by itself or do all 3 pins move/adjust at the same time?

 

The whole head moves. All the pins and the surround.

 

Thats what mine does. Its an older model of the Truglo range rover. I found it at a local archery shop for $30 and I couldnt resist.

 

I have a CBE TEK Hybrid 3-Pin I used last year and it worked like Fitz's does.

20-30-40 works. When I shot a fast bow the flat trajectory allowed me to set the first pin out to 25 or 30 yards which extended the range I could shoot without pulling out the range finder. being back to lower poundage I also back to 20, 30, 40.

 

20, 30, 40. The top two pins will float as well. For example, when the bottom is set to 50, the other two are now 30 and 40 respectively. If the bottom pin is dialed into 30, the other two are now 10 and 20. Least on my set up anyway.
