I was shooting with a friend yesterday and he told me the way I tie my peeps in is excessive and unnecessary. He just ties it in above and below the peep. How do you guys tie in your peeps?[IMG]

Tell him he's excessive and unnecessary.

Mine's tied like yours only I wrap around the same side of the split string, above and below. :tu:

Yeah I don't think you can do too much. Wouldn't want it falling out on a hunt.

I tie mine in like I expect it to tow a truck. If something moves... it's not my peep.

Yeah, not wrapping the peep is asking it to move.

And i think this is about the most secure way to tie in a peep. My old peep would move a lot before I started tying like this.

I just tie above and below. Prefer it this way. Makes making changes much easier and I've never had one move. If one is concerned about it moving all they need to do is tie around the peep along with the below and above.

My peep is the same way. Nothing excessive or unnecessary about that. :tu:

You aren't concerned at all about it moving or falling out while walking in the woods?

    Nope

I do my sons the same way as well. Been doing it this way for years. I do mark my string but never had one move.

I'm probably just being paranoid but it's couldn't hurt.

When I bought my Assassin new the shop gave it to me with just the serving wrapped around the peep. I shot it over a year and it never moved. When I replaced the strings I tied it in the Tony219'er way (like yours). On my Experience it is also fully tied in. I am replacing the string set this week and will just wrap it until I get everything tuned how I want and then it will get fully tied in as well.

I tie mine just top and bottom. In 25 years I have never had one fall out or move. I do put a little white mark on the string to mark it's location, just to keep an eye on it. The same as I do the my rest and sight locations. Never had an issue.

had a peep sight shift on a hunt and cost a hog. glad it wasn't a buck. ever since have tied mine in exactly as you have. See no negative in tying it securely.
