At what yardage does wind really come in to play when shooting? yesterday I was shooting and was spot on out to 40. At 50 and 60 all my arrows were 3-5 inches to the left, I don't know if it was wind or maybe center shot is a little off. Any have any insight on this?

My guess from experience is around 40. Well really anything after 30 yards.

Depends on what your arrow weighs and how windy it is

I agree, there's a large variance. I also think wind has just as much effect on the shooter as the arrows itself.

Fitz makes a very good point. Especially get you up in a tree wagging around like a dog's tail...

OP- I guess the first question is "how windy was it"?

Wind effect also depends a lot on if you are shooting field tips/mechanicals vs. fixed heads.

For me personally, shooting 100gr. field tips at appx. 285fps out of the setup below, I don't notice any real wind drift to about 50 yards even with a fairly stiff cross breeze (steady 10-15mph.) I'm usually still pretty much right on.

However, throw a 1.125" fixed blade broadhead on there, and I can be off as much as 4" at 50yds in the same conditions.

Honestly unless the wind is really howling; if there is significant wind planing with field tips at under 40 yards it must be the shooter is either using a very slow and/or light set up.

I would say it was between 5-10 mph winds, and it was only at 50+. I was hitting a 3in circle at 40 but at 50 everyrhing was to the left

Tweaked the rest just a tad, shot 3 arrows at 70 and got this. uploadfromtaptalk1405890971571.jpg

I've always noticed a lot more problems with the wind blowing me around while aiming, then actually effect on arrow flight.
