A certain arrow manufacturer told me today that I had worn out their arrows. Based off me shooting approximately 5,000 shots on a dozen shafts that they were worn out and would give me a discount on a new dozen.

I politely told them I would go back to my old brand and they could remove me from their shooting staff.

Now to ask all of you, does this sound right? Fat target shafts worn out in about 420 shots? It didn't to me considering how many shots I have put on other brands. Just curious if I was out of line.

Seems rather arbitrary, did they provide you with any rationale for this limit or did you feel they just needed to meet their sales Targets?

They said thin wall fat shaft arrows weren't designed to handle a lot of blows and not designed to hold up to high amounts of KE. They strayed they wear out much faster than the average arrow.

I feel with that explanation and that they offered a discounted price (which I already get) they were trying to just sale arrows.

An easy way to explain it is arrows are like rubber bands. the more they are stretched the weaker they become.
So if you have a heavy rubber band (thicker walled arrows) the more times you can stretch it until it weakens.
The thinner ones will get weaker faster.
Fat shaft arrows or line jammers are mostly used by target shooters and shot at a less poundage than you would shoot for hunting.

I understand that completely. I only shoot 55lb on these at 29". I would think they would have lasted a little longer before major tuning issues started showing up. I guess they must have run their course and it's time for new ones.

Deer Crossing...... They talked them up so much. I broke one into 4 pieces by flexing it with my hands yesterday.

    Never heard of them.
I have always been very careful of the arrows I shoot just because of worrying about the breaking when I shoot
