I believe that a Trufire Hurricane is around that price. I have had them in the past and was very pleased with it. V
i looked up the little goose and this is what i found. which one where you referring to? Amazon.com: scott little goose release
i have looked at a couple trufire release's. they do seem to have pretty good reviews and prices is very good.
The best release in that price range imo is the tru ball short n sweet 2. http://www.eders.com/product.php?productid=133766&gclid=CJG99f7Zsb8CFQMT7AodtnoA_g Decent trigger at an affordable price. Just make sure you go with a buckle in whatever you decide on. My favorites are the carters but they are much more expensive.
http://www.cabelas.com/product/Scot...&recordsPerPage=18&infiniteScrollType=product This Is what I use except mine is buckle not the strap. Works very well and Scott releases are guaranteed for life even if you break it from abuse. At least that's what the website said when I bought it. I haven't tried out the warrenty yet.
I've shot several of the scott releases over the years, including the goose series. While they are quality releases and will last a long time, their triggers aren't very good. Think about it this way, would you want a $1000 rifle with a junk trigger? A rifle you want a good light trigger with no travel and with a bow you want a good heavy trigger with no travel. And good adjustment is a bonus.
I've been shooting Cobra Tru-Caliper releases for years. It's worked well for me and hasn't broken the bank.
i understand not wanting to skimp on a release, but i dont want to over pay because of name brand either. i just want something solid, dependable, and still come in under $100. i would prefer the wrist strap with a claw grip.
With my first bow, I shot the Jim Fletcher .44 Caliper release. You can pick them up at Basspro for about $45. It's a decent release for the money. Jim Fletcher .44 Caliper Release | Bass Pro Shops I now shoot a Trufire Hardcore Buckle Foldback. I love this release! Buy a budget release if you must. However, there is a difference when you buy a good release. In my opinion, your release is one of the most important pieces of your setup.
I am a fan of Scott releases. I like the ones I can fold back so in cold weather I can more easily put my hands in my warmer muff or pockets. Currently I am using a Scott Wolverine. My last one was the Little Bitty Goose. My wife "borrowed" that one so that's why I bought the Wolverine.
Funny how that works, mine does the same guns, optics and gear. I've just come to the conclusion to buy 2 of what ever it is. If not I get to watch the seagull scene from Finding Memo in person. I've used a lot of Scott products from paintball, hockey to motorcycles , all have held up very well.
i ended up going with the little goose. after reserching it here on the forums.....a lot of guys seem to like it. i got it off amazon for $55 shipped. thx everyone
Hubby has the Scott one and he loves it. BTW I just bought a used release from a member on the Forum for $60. Always worth a look
