I have had the pleasure of trying one out and out works great. I like how light it is, less then a quarter pound and gives you Distant Target Priority Mode which is great in wooded areas. A buddy uses his on the golf course too. I figure anything that can pick up a golf pin has to be good. Waterproof and a 2 year warranty as well.
I haven't used that one, but we have the Vortex rangefinder and love it. Not to mention it's made in the USA and has a no questions asked, lifetime warranty.
I think the waterproof on the Aculon is a little different than some of the other Nikon rangefinders. On Nikon's website it was listed as water resistant. It is not fully sealed like some of their other models that are listed as waterproof. Just a heads up as I have it listed a few other times as waterproof but it most likely won't be if it were to accidentally be submerged.
I have the Nikon Prostaff 5. I use mine for both hunting and golf. It works great for both. I caught it on sale at Gander Mountain last year around Father's Day. I think I picked it up for $149. I'm pretty happy with my purchase.
