I have been looking at buying my first compound bow and I have shot two different PSE bows the 2014 surge and Drive Lt. I have a basic idea about the difference in hybrid cam vs solo cam. Which would be better for a first time bow owner? I really could not tell a difference in either the pull or hand shock.

Personal preference completely. As you shoot more bows you will start to notice differences between the two on the draw. Nock travel is generally more level with 2 cam or hybrid cam bows. I think that would be about the only advantage one had over the other. I lean toward 2 and hybrid cams because they just feel better to me but to each their own. Just buy what you like.
