can someone assist me -- every now and then my nock will stay on my bow after arrow release... I've re-adjusted the nocking point..
Sounds like your nocks aren't fitting tight enough in your arrows. I would either try some new nocks or I have heard of people using platic wrap (the kind you cover food with) between the arrow and nock as you push it in. This is assuming you are using the push in type of nocks.
so are you saying using a simple nail file and just file down alittle of the inside nock... now knowing that this nock has come off -- will plastic wrapping the inside of the nock and re-inserting back into the shaft hold good enough...
Yep, I have heard that the plastic does the trick. I personally would stay away from modifying the inside of my nocks, it may wear your serving faster. Also it seems like treating a symptom rather than the cause. Is your serving new? If so, It will eventually "break in" and this may not be as big of a problem. That said it still seems like your nocks aren't fitting as tight into your arrows as they should. I just replaced mine and there is a noticeable difference. I could pull the old ones out easily with my fingers, but the new ones are in solid. Hope this helps!
I'm glad I read this. On a few of my Beman arrows, after I shoot, the knock is pulled an 1/8" or so out of the arrow and I have to snap them back in after every shot.
Absolutely. I would never file the throat of a nock, there's no way to get it done evenly on each side. Bag it man, bag it.
between the 2 suggestions we have made. you need to figure out if the nock diameter isn't tight enough in the shaft (the plastic trick will work for this) or is the nock to tight on the string. (then you would have to file it down) yes, you can take a finger nail file and make a couple passes then put it back on the string. it should hold firm but not take a lot of pressure when pushing the nock on the string.
