I decided to get into 3D this year, it starts Jan and goes thru Aug around here. Yesterday was the last of the season. I lose Jan-Apr because of tax season so May was my first. May: Bought a new QAD for my No Cam 3 weeks prior to shoot. Tried to get it thru Congress and even called the Pope and could not get it right. Bought a limb driven rest 10PM the night before and no where to test in the dark. My start time was 8AM and I got up early to tune as much as possible. Came in dead last. June: Switched over to a Stan on Friday and the shoot was on Sunday. Was doing ok with the new release but nothing spectacular. Bottom limb blew on target 18 of 25. Came in dead last again. July: Bought a new Obsession and didn't quite get tuned nor have time to practice with the new release much either. Was bowless for almost a month waiting on an unfavorable answer and went to the shoot untested. Biggest problem was no time to get out and shoot long enough distance to get my HHA tape set. A lot of guessing. Dead last. August: Got the bow tuned perfectly, got real comfortable with my release and was shooting well. Last shoot of the season is All Deer Outlaw only. 20 targets - first 10 known, last 10 unknown all 20 up to 45 yds. Came in 1st!
Certain things I miss about my No Cam, like I was very accurate with it before the blow ups and hate that it didn't work out. To this day it's still the only bow I've robin hooded with and I did it 3 or 4 times from March 9th until some time in late March. So a relatively short period of time.
