I'm having trouble with torque. I don't know how else to describe it but I can feel the grip twisting in my hand. I put the grip in between my thumb and index finger and draw back with an open, relaxed hand. I can literally feel it trying to twist. I've watched the videos and read all I can so I'm pretty sure I'm close to a proper grip. I shoot a Mathews and it had the fat wooden grip and I thought that might be part of the problem so I switched to the Focus Grip. That helps but it's still an issue. Any ideas?

It would be easier if you could get us a few pictures to look at and we could then try and evaluate.

Even though most torque issues are found in the grip, some show up from arm position as well as even the amount of twist you put your back in. (usually found if you are shooting a bow with too much draw weight.) Lots of variables/possibilities.

I wouldn't put the bow in between your thumb and index finger the grip should be resting on your thumb pad under your thumb if you have the bow between your finger and thumb in that arch it will torque every time! i'm going to put some pictures up here and show you how I bet your holding your bow and how you SHOULD be holding your bow.. let me know if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure this is your problem...

And this is how your hand should be it should be with the grip resting on your pad of your thumb and not squeezing it with the rest of your hand

The best way for me explain how the grip feels is like holding a bottle in my left hand and trying to twist off a top that is tight. The bottle would torque in my hand. Does that make sense?

Are you using a proper draw length? My first compound (target only, didn't hunt with it) had the wrong DL and I was Mr. Bow Torque.

I was curious if you worked your grip problem out? I know its been several months, but the comments above did not seem to help.... at least they didn't offer any suggestions. If holding the bow correctly, your knuckles should be at a 45 degree angle.

Make a fist. Open your index finger and thumb. Place the bow in the webbing between your index finger and thumb. point your index finger straight down. Hold the bow loosely and shoot. Problem solved.
