As someone who is new to archery, I'm mostly going to be hunting with my bow, how do some of you more experienced archers feel about 3D shoots? As far as practice and just becoming more familiar with your equipment?
It's a great way to pick a spot and work on form without the pressure of the target bustin you. I do it too all summer every year just to keep shoulder and muscles in shape
Go to 3d shoots in your area as much as you can in the off season. Builds muscle memory, and helps you work on judging distance, and so many different things that translate over to bow hunting. And it's just fun and challenging "Couldn't think of a good Signature"
Yes they are very good to do in the off season. Try bringing some buddies and have a little competition, the pressure of the competition will help you shoot better under pressure when there's a deer in front of you!
I enjoy 3d season almost as much as hunting season. Well, it's a distant second anyway. I shoot 3d with the exact same setup that I hunt with. I don't change draw weight, arrows, sights, or release. Ultimately, I view 3d as practice for hunting. Winning medals isn't my primary goal but a good score=proficient practice.
Real good way to tune your bow and get more familar with shooting on life size animals to learn to guess yardage and shot placement.
