Wilson Co here. Sat out last night to try and stick a pig and the mosquitoes sounded like there was a swarm of bees in the blind with me.

Finally, starting to see enough activity to be optimistic.

Who else is missing the season already?! All that is in the back of my mind right now is scouting newer areas on the lease for next season!

Well considering that I came up bust on deer this season I'm looking forward to beard season. Ive also map scouted a bunch of properties to send letters to the LO hoping to get in on at least one.

Hate hearing that for you this year. I busted on my lease in east tx but was able to score a cull buck on same familes land in North east Oklahoma. Where abouts in tx do you hunt?

I hunt where ever I can get an invite. I really put a lot into the draw hunts this year but out of 31 draws came up bust. Can only get better right. I was planning on trying a bunch of standbys but I had a trans leak on my truck that only took taking the transmission out 3 times to figure out it was the torque converter. That started about thanksgiving and was finally fixed last friday. My neighbor is working on a 5000 acre LF ranch that allegedly hasn't been hunted in 40+ years and the ranch next door is to be culling 150s. So fingers crossed on that one. I live in the San Antonio area.

Culling 150s?! Hell sign me up for that lol! We had two 140 class deer taken on our lease this year and those were the cream of the crop for us. I know there is bigger deer running around but hard to capture everything in east texas with all the thick brush and what not. Hope it works out for you this year!

Thanks I hope it works out too. I have to correct it tho. I was told last night it been 14 years since last hunted and only by family not 40 yrs. This place is all thick brush as well. We would have to cut all senderos and food pot areas as well as bring in electric and water if we want that as well. It will definitely be some work if we get it, just hope it has a good return.

Has anyone had a chance to work on their lands/leases yet this post season? I have had a camera up on my protein feeder so far, but it has been a true struggle so far getting them to get comfortable with the protein and trying to keep pigs out of the area. I will be going back this Sunday to put up some fencing around the protein feeders and put some mineral blocks out. We had good success last year with the trophy rock mineral lick.
