I hunt on family owned land in Bossier Parish. If you go back a few years I've also hunted Peason Ridge, Kisatchie, and Clear Creek WMA in western central Louisiana. I live close to Bodcau WMA but I'll only plan to hunt out there after I kill some deer and I want to take a pig or two.

If you plan to hunt WMA's in North LA you should try Loggy Bayou WMA. I've never hunted there cause I have private land, but they kill some big ones and have good success ratios.

Have anyone tried Sicily Island Hills, Jackson-Bienville, or Union? I was gonna try to make it to one.

Everybody that I know hunts JB love it.....only thing is the lease with the state is up after this season so there is a chance that it may not be a WMA anymore. If an new 20yr lease is signed next year then that's were id hunt....but you might try Sicily Island....the fact that nobody talks about it may be a sigh that its a little piece of heaven....Let us know what you find

I had no idea about JB. Thanks for the info. Definitely will check it out. My dad told me when he and his brothers where young they would go tent camp for squirrel weekend there and see tons of deer while they where checking it out...of course times arent what they use to be...

Another good area to check out is Peason Ridge in Vernon and Natchitoches parishes. It is owned by Fort Polk but I believe civilians can get a pass to hunt there as long as it's not closed for training exercises. There are plenty of deer, hogs, and turkey's up that way. Also, there are wild horses there which makes it a unique place.
