    Anyone else hunting down here? Only place in driving distance to me is 3 Lakes WMA. No luck out there yet, but i'll be there this weekend again.

    I live in Charleston Sc now but my Girlfriend lives in Jacksonville and will be moving back down soon. Starting bowhunting this year and will be looking at going out to ocala area. I am originally from oviedo.

    In heading to Florida tarpon fishing in July. Is there any hunting to be had at that time of year?? What critters are there?
    Please excuse me if it's a silly question, I'm from Australia and don't know much about the area?
    It would be awesome if I could squeeze a hunt in whilst I'm there.

    Florida is divided into zones which have varying season dates, but Deer season in FL doesn't start until Aug 3rd at the earliest. However there is good wild hog hunting, which is allowed year-round. Check out Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for more info.
