So I hunt a 900 acre club in Orange County and I have yet to find one acorn there is one small field on the property there is no way all the deer can be feeding in this one field been in the woods about 4 full days sitting in trees mostly haven't seen a deer yet any ideas?
I hunt Prince William, Stafford, Spotsy, and King George......there is not one damn acorn to be found...not ONE! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
I hunt albemarle, prince william and fauquier. No acorns and almost no deer. None of the property I hunt, has any planted fields on or adjacent to the property. Very frustrated with the season so far.
I live in Stafford and have acorns in my back year like no tomorrow. I have see limited acorns on base while hunting and have yet to see but three deer during daylight hours. Once the sun goes down they are all out at the road chowing down.
Im in winchester and they're plentiful out here... Howdy by the way from a Va native to all you Va natives...
The talk around my way is the cicadas messed with the trees this year. Off to a really slow start to the season. Hopefully the cold coming this week will get the deer on their feet and moving. Seems to be a lot of bear running around this year. May have something to do with the lack of acorns so they are out searching for food.
I'm getting to this thread late season. The acorns in Fairfax county are not what they usually are. Any luck with your bows this time of year? Methods? please share. All the Best-J
I hunt Prince William and Loundon this time of year for the antler less only season. Are you hunting big property or small, residential?
