Can a buck keep his antlers without dropping them? I have one buck that hasnt dropped his antlers and the rest of my deer dropped their back in December and early January.

Lots of stories and bucks have this occur. Cactus buck is the the term I've always heard coined for them. Lot of times it can happen when a buck castrates themselves on a fence wire or was just born with irregular testicles. Some amazing stories and bucks have even been declared "un-scoreable" due to this.

It's late, but some bucks will hold a good ways into March.

Most bucks I've seen that keep theirs have all or most of their velvet.

We had a buck hold both sides until April 15th... Didn't lose the second side until the 23rd!

Just straight up holding a rack then shedding late we've seen quite often. Our big boy two years ago was on camera on April 21st still sporting both sides.
