I have read that a chemical, brand name Arrest, can be sprayed on clover plots to remove grass without damaging the clover plot. Can this chemical can accomplish this task? I ask because I hunt in Buffalo county and we are infested with these tall grasses. Can we spray this on the grasses to prevent them from overwhelming the trees we plant? Thanks for the insight.

Yes it can. It is much better to use it on younger less established grass. I haven't used this specific herbicide. It is grass specific. I've used Arrow in the past on Alfalfa. It did a good job of killing the grasses and not damaging the Alfalfa.
    Hope this helps.

Might have this thread moved to the food plot section. You'll probably get more answers. JMO.

Never used it, I always use Clethodim (Arrow). I see they also have a product called Slay for broadleaf control, interesting.

Never too early to come up with a plan to make the plots better for next year. I have found that you are better off treating early rather than later.

Arrow, Volunteer, Clethodim, Poast, Section, Arrest, these will all work to kill grass in a broadleaf crop without hurting the broadleaf (clover, brassicas, beans..). They usually call for an adjuvant at 2 quarts/100 gals of water. The adjuvant IS necessary to get a good kill on the grass. Good luck!
