OK so many of you know I took a nice non typical earlier this season off a piece of public land in here in my county in North east illinois well I've been chasing 2 deer for 4 years I finally connected on the one the second will end up living lol cause of this story
Well I went out today and checked cams and hunted all day only had does and a spike on my 2 cams so I figured I'd sit today just for the heck of it well at 9:40 am 4 does come out to the grass field start eating so I'm just watching them then it happens at 10:12 am 2 does step out and 20 feet behind them is a true public land giant I mean at least 140 class deer well he is lock to those 2 does he stayed 20 ft behind them the whole time eating as they did if they walked so did he well they stayed 112 yards out the whole time they finally left at 11 or so so I keep sitting at 2:43 the 2 old does come back out and so does he right behind them and stays out till 4 the closet they got was 88 yards he's the biggest deer I've ever seen in person or on public land I'm nicknaming him the beast I took 2 pics on my cell phone they do him no justice there crap but just look at the one pic of him walking away he's a giant. He's gona be my new target buck from here on out now.

He's very tall and wide you can kinda tell from the one pic but I was taking them from my phone while he's 90 yards away so it's tge best I could do I'm gona purchase a camera and start filming my public land hunts.

Thanx yeah a couple of the places I hunt it's divided into areas like a ,b,c,d and only some areas allow deer firearm the 2 areas I hunt are archery only so the gun hunters push the deer into the archery only fields or sections and not to many people hunt out here cause it's a farm Town so there all hunting there own property it seems like most of the time I have 2 to 3000 acres of public all to myself I went to both properties during the gun just driving past all day and the bad storm kept them away no one hunted the public out by me at all cause the snow.

I'm looking to bow hunt public land in Illinois! Without even seeing the land, your doing well by hunting opposite the gun only areas, I'll be looking to go somewhere that has similar qualities! Bucks like that assure me coming up there is where it's at!
