I phrased my paragraph badly and led you to believe those photos were from the G42 (I edited the paragraph so it makes more sense). Those photos are from the lesser-priced P12. My G42 performs really well in both daytime and night time. You shouldn't be getting photos like that from your G42.

The blur reduction on the G42 is probably not turned on.
The G12...pretty decent pics for a cheap camera.

I guess that G42 has spoiled me. Should have just bought another one of those I guess. :)

Ruteger, don't feel bad I did the exact same thing. I had a G42 and was very happy with it. A store I shop at had a sale on the P12's, two for $99.99. I got them and after 2 card pulls I got rid of both. Pic quality was no where near the G42. You get what you pay for.

Live and you learn I suppose. I'll have to buy another G42 over the winter. It drives me crazy not to be able to count points in my photos. Thanks for letting me know I'm not crazy

Those pictures look good and quite typical for a "less expensive" camera.

If you never look at pictures from a good camera, you'll be happy with those.

I contacted StealthCam about the issue to see if it was something that was wrong with the camera, and they said it was probably because the camera is a lower priced camera that doesn't have blur reduction. They let me upgrade to another G42 for $50 (a little less than what I would have paid if I bought it outright (including what I paid for the p12)) but I'm plenty happy with that because the G42 is a great camera. Great customer service from StealthCam!
