Tomorrow I will be deep frying a turkey and double smoking a ham. We are having the in laws over to the new house for our first thanksgiving here.

    What are you doing?

We always go to the in-laws for a Thanksgiving dinner of deep fried turkey.

Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday. There's no commercialization, it's just about family and great food.

    Thanksgiving; my favorite holiday!

Will be doing some hunting in the morning and then spending the day with my immediate family eating food and watching football. Friday after Thanksgiving I always get together with a bunch of my high school friends that are home so it's one of my favorite times of the year.

    Amen!

Going to brunch with my mom and her family. Will be having prime rib and shrimp with the girlfriend and her family later in the day.

Family, friends, beer, football, and tons of food... Cannot beat it.

Thanksgiving is the best holiday ever. First of all everybody has a little fun the night before, second the positioning in the week with Friday as an added holiday, third there is football to watch, pumpkin pie, and also a holiday that does not come with a required church service.

We're butchering our turkeys tonight (raised them for dinner). Then I'll be heading to my parents tomorrow where my Mom will cook the bird. My MIL is supposed to cook the other - I'll stay quiet with my thoughts on that!

I butchered Turkeys for a few years, heck of a workout holding them by the legs after you took the head off. Bodies are to big to fit in road cones like chickens.

Husband is going to have a friend come help him. These two are so friendly, we can just go and pick them up. So friend is going to help him do all the butchering, because I kind of like them even though I know why we raised them, lol.

Dunk them in boiling water (grab feet and up and down), then you'll be able to pluck them easily.

    One was 25# other 30#.

Not a big fan of the plucking machines especially on a turkey, if the water is too hot the plucker will rip the skin and that would be a disaster for trying to roast a turkey.

Never seen the machine before. It really wasn't too bad plucking.
