Has anyone tried these yet? Built in wifi that allows you to download the pictures directly to your phone from a distance. Looks interesting but would be nice to see the max distance for checking and how long would it take to transfer images from camera to phone. http://www.kodiakcamera.com/kodiak-series-trail-camera/
That's interesting but I'm not sure it's worth the extra price of the camera just for the convenience of not actually going to the camera.
I'd definitely have to see more details and reviews before buying. A lot of guys hate checking their cams at all so I think the idea will sell and you'll start to see it in more cameras.
To me, going into my woods to check my cams is part of the fun, plus it gives me the chance to see any changes that may have taken place in the area, like rubs and scrapes, ect.
There have been several other manufacturers to have something similar and it never took off. I'd speculate that the WiFI is a battery killer. Additionally I don't see much value unless multiple cameras can create a mesh network, each device serving as a repeater / access point. The range otherwise would just not be good enough to justify the cost. I could see some advantages if it worked well. Checking a near by cam from the stand. Not disturbing places such as bedding areas, etc....
It'd be pretty cool to be able to sit in your stand and check nearby cams. I wonder what the effective range is. Blessings........Pastorjim
