Well guys I didn't get my 150 buck like I planned but I still came home with a good deer. It was a slow week for Kansas then sunday my last day of my trip the good Lord flooded me with blessings. I seen good deer all week don't get me wrong even made a bad shot on a 8pt that did survive, because he was seen 2 days later following a doe. But from Thursday to sunday morning I had yet to lay a deer down. Well sunday morning it was beautiful nice and overcast cold little 10mph wind and the deer where up and moving. We jumped one up right by the blind I was going to hunt but needless to say it didn't matter 7am 4 does come walking straight at me stop at 26 yards and I smoke one of the bigger ones she ran 50 yards in the middle of the field and piled up where I can see her. kansasdoe.jpg . Seen a few more does after that but no bucks. Well after we cleaned her I went wash up and got back out there right after lunch time. Went to a new spot I been wanting to hunt, so I'm getting all my stuff on and together for the hunt. I'm wrapping up and closed the door of my truck and turn around and there is a nice buck standing out at 50-60 yards looking at me, so I try to put on a stalk needless to say he wasn't having it. He slowly walked off into the brush and I knew it was pointless to follow. So I start heading to the stand about 1pm by this time, I get to where I walk into the little flat and there is a doe standing there looking at me so I just freeze and watch her, well at this time I look at my stand and there is a big 8pt right under it walking toward some other deer I didn't see until he chased them out the flat. So I'm just in Aww at this point haha. Well my stand became vacant so I got in it and settled. Well I look up and a small doe is feeding 20 yards in front me and feeds a while then decided to bed about 35 yards to my left, well I'm thinking hey live decoy so I just watch her here and there. Well about 45mins pass and I see horns. A pretty decent 8pt shows up and I'm thinking he will do because I need to fill my buck tag and get home, so he comes in turns broadside and I let the arrow fly, well foolish me forgot to adjust my signal pin before I shot lets just say the shot was high and the deer went on his merry way(thank God). So after that the doe is still bedding down about 1 hour passes and 2 big does and a yearly come out and feed in front me for hours, then a button buck shows up while they all feeding. So one of the bigger does and the yearlings walk off and one of the bigger does stays well its about 5:15 and its getting late so I had a doe tag left so I said 5:20 shes dead lol. So she comes in at 10 yards and I smoke her she didn't go but 60 yards on the road easy tracking lol. After she ran off I can hear a deer walking behind me and not even a minute after HE walks out with a doe. All I could say and think is PLEASE GOD let me get a shot. Well he walks away from me and I'm just praying and praying turn turn please turn hahaha well he turned walked straight towards me stopped 18 yards and I put a heart shot on him:) he made it 70 yards and piles up. kansas82015.jpg 2015kansas8.jpg kansasbuckdoe.jpg I didn't score him yet but I will try soon, I'm guessing 120ish. But this was by far the best hunt I ever had hunting in general.
