What county in Ohio would you choose to hunt for a BIG buck if you were going for a week?

Can't go wrong in Ohio in general. Yeah maybe some counties have recorded more booners than others but you will still find those BIG bucks in most of the counties, including those in the Northern part of the state.

There are no big bucks in Ohio I don't know who told you this but don't trust a word they say , haha There's really no specific county that I would say is proven to have bigger bucks then another, I like hunting central to southern Ohio , northern Ohio is mostly flat lands and it can be a challenge for me , I'm used to the more rugged terrain ridges, bottoms and all kinds of crazy land features that create those easy to find funnels, pinch points . I hunt a lease in coshocton county and I'm impressed with the caliber of bucks I'm seeing!

I hunted Adams county a few years back. There is an area I believe they call the Triangle that includes this county that is supposedly very good. I was there the last week in October and hit warm rainy weather. Hunting was slow but my buddy scored on a nice 135 class buck.

One thing I learned about Ohio. Folks who own land are NUTS. Our Outfitter there was terrified of having one of his hunters get off his properties and on to adjoining land. They take trespassing beyond seriously out there.

Draw a diagonal line through Ohio from the NE corner to the SW corner...anything south of that line has big deer

I've been there twice this season and haven't had any luck. Heard there's some big ones there, just haven't seen any.

It's just not the landowners. The law in OH is you have to written permission or it is a big fine. I was told by ODNR at a sportsman's show that even if my friend (the landowner) was with me and we got checked I could still get fined if I did not have my written permission slip with me. It doesn't matter that he would verify I had permission if they wanted to I could still get fined. I wish PA took trespassing that seriously.

I hunt Ashtabula county and we see a lot of deer, but since my friend bought this place in 2013 we have only seen 1 or 2 that would even break P&Y.

Tuscarawas, Licking, and Muskingum seem to always be at the top when it comes to solid deer herd and biggest deer. That whole area over there has a really good mix of farm and woods. Also, just about any of the counties in the southern part of Ohio are also good.

No, it was a little one man operation called Kish Creek Outfitters. He actually lived local to us here in PA, seemed like a nice enough guy. Just way in over his head out there we found out. That and I started to wonder about the hunting pressure he didn't know about while he was away. Never had deer look up in stands as much as they did there.
