Well it happened the over hyped meal ticket has been defeated. Suppose too much time promoting herself rather than training and remaining focused. Hype over.
Bam! Her head got too swolled up and now it is... literally. She will be feeling that one for at least a month, physically, and for years to come, psychologically. She still is a powerhouse and has the skill to defeat holm she just fought a stupid fight. Kinda knew it was coming . Congrats to Holm on delivering a Brutal Beatdown! I know i wouldnt want to be the one on the receiving end of that kick and im 6 feet 220 lbs.
She got completely out-boxed. The better fighter clearly won that fight. I'm not sure if Rousey could have won even on her best day with the performance Holm put on.
She just looked sloppy, you are supposed to be at the top of your game and you fall down away from an opponent and then just stand up and turn around without having a hand to block??? Wth? I'm guessing too many free bud lights and Hardee's breakfast sandwiches made her slow to react? Lol
Anyone with a passing interest in sports is going to hear about her and MMA she was on late night TV, ESPN, every sports awards event and any red carpet, in movies and interviewed constantly on radio and internet shows.
It's pretty simple, womens MMA needed an icon to promote the brand so they made a hero by overhyping the best they had to offer that could cross over the most industries like MMA, modeling, acting, etc... The problem was that Rousey started believing the hype that was based off of promotional intent rather than her pure skill and she got sloppy. There's always someone better than you on any given day, she just found that out the hard way. She was "outboxed" because an efficient boxer makes you fight as a boxer. That's exactly why I said before that her mouthing about being able to beat a male boxer was just stupid. She'd had fights in the past that her opponent gave her all she wanted even letting her dictate the pace. You can only get by being a bulldog so long.
Well aware of that, and there's plenty of obsession going on. I hear people talking about it in the office like crazy. Not just this fight, but others as well. If I asked those same guys to name a single WNBA or Women's soccer player or professional softball player, they wouldn't have a clue.
