Just saw this yesterday. http://www.sportingclassicsdaily.com/issue/2015-1/article/bass-pro-buying-cabelas http://www.kulr8.com/story/30496958/cabelas-employees-say-managers-confirm-store-will-close-jan-1
I've been thinking about this story (second link) for a couple days. There is something a bit fishy. Though BPS allegedly has hired an investment bank to explore a buyout/acquisition (mentioned on CNBC a week or two ago), the deal isn't done and approved yet. Until that happens these sorts of announcements just aren't made at this stage of an M&A. If that store is closing 1/1, I think it is that particular store is underperforming (maybe in part from a competitor) ...something a manager probably wouldn't say.
Saw this a few days ago. If its true, it sucks because they were finally putting in a Cabelas that's closer then 1 1/2 hours away from me. Although bass pro is building even closer.
If it's true I hope they keep the Cabelas clothing and gear. It's hands down better than the Redhead brand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
