So Matt and I shot each other bows this week. He shoots a Mathews and I shoot an Elite. I have a 1/4" peep I think. And he has a smaller one. Maybe 3/16"? Matt please confirm.

So when I would shoot his bow I would be 6" right of center. When he would shoot my bow he was 6" left of center. Both at 20 yards. We both were lining up the peep centered with the sight housing.

    We both stood there bewildered.

So someone explain what is going here.

I've always wondered this same thing... I've never shot someone elses bow so I'm interested to hear some responses.

I would say your rest are lined up different??? Or both of you are holding your rest different at the grip That's all I can come up with, but I'm not a professional, I just play one on TV.

I wouldn't expect any different, Are the bows other wise the same Brad? DL specifically? Doesn't take much difference in anchor point to change POI.... I shot a buddies bow last week I was hitting 10 ish inches low and right with it, he was dead nuts on...

Both of you shooting with both eyes open and have same eye dominance and have similar anchor points?

(Adding onto where TB is fishing)

Are you left eye dominant and don't realize it?

A bit bizarre, I've sold both of my old bows tobthe same guy and he never had to adjust a thing.

I would guess that one of you is torquing the bow when you shoot and has compensated for that when you sighted in your own bow. If you're right handed then I would put my money on the one who is shooting right of center. Then again I have no idea what I'm talking about.

That was my reasoning...I'm actually left eye dominant but switched back to shooting RH a few years back.

That would be the only thing I can think of. Especially if both of you shoot both eyes open.

It is weird how used we get to shooting our bow, I let a guy take a few shots with my bow and he was shooting right. He thought it was him because I could pick it up and be on. I forgot to tell him there was a little twist to the peep and I compensate with the view of the sight ring thru the peep. It is almost subconscious how our brains tune into how we shoot.

No way is it torqueing the bow at 20 yards with fletched arrows.

I shoot with one eye open (I think). It depends.

TJ, anchor point should not make that much difference at 20 yards IMO if we adjusted our anchor point so that the peep and sight are centered. Now if we both went to our normal anchor point I could see this.

I think it is eye view thing as well.

One other thing is that damn Mathews about ripped off my arm twice. Used to my heavy let off elite. Matt was wondering WTF was wrong with me.

Then he tried to let my Elite down and said he could not do it. Too scary

Left to right difference I would credit to vision and focus. Every body focuses a little different. Any vertical difference I would credit to difference in draw length and anchor point.

I am sighted with two eyes, if I shoot with one eye, I will be off.
