Just got back from my yearly trip to Ohio and managed to tag out with this beauty! Came in through the wind and rain to give me a 15 yard shot with the rage. Haven't pulled the tape yet but will keep you guys posted! This buck was on my mind all week after climbing in the stand for the first morning sit. Just as the sun was starting to rise this guy shows up and walks straight to my wick at 10 yards, just being able to see the silhouette I didn't want to make a potentially bad shot so I let him walk on. 10 minutes later here comes a doe up the ridge and this guy busts back out from behind me and is heading to her 30 yards away. I draw back and have to squat to try and get under a limb and I let her fly. Next thing I know my arrow is kicked sideways and sparks fly as the arrow clips a dang tree! You want to talk about being bummed out, I thought I was about to up-chuck all over the tree! The buck didn't spoke bad as he just threw up the tail made a couple of skips then walked back down the ridge. Long story short I let that stand sit the entire next day and went back in on the 3rd morning. Sure enough, 7:15 rolls around and he shows back up. I managed to connect this time and he ran about 50 yards before going down.
