I have been greatly blessed this hunting season and I want to pay it forward. If there is someone on this forum who does not wear a treestand harness because they cannot afford one, I will buy you a new one and ship it to you for free. Obviously this is an on-your-honor system. I can't think of a best way to do this, so the first person to pm me gets it. Again, please only pm me if you don't have one and can't afford to get one.

I am not sponsored by anyone and this is coming out of my own pocket, but I will be sending a Muddy harness. I use them and think they are simple, light and high quality.

Finally, some one trying to encourage people like myself to be safe and to stay in the archery world!

All too often I see comments on bow hunting forums about telling others they joined the wrong sport, or maybe shouldn't be into anything archery related because it is an expensive hobby!

I don't need the harness but I know all too well what it is like to live pay check to pay check trying to make ends meet. We don't do many "luxury" things any more to ensure we can keep bow hunting and into archery.

Let's keep encouraging others to join and stay in our sport regardless of their income level!

    Hats off to you, Turkish621!

That's a wonderful gesture. Just last week, my brother-in-law called me and asked what type of harness I wear. It took a 20 foot fall for him to finally realize he's not invincible. He was extremely fortunate as he hit some branches on his way down that apparently slowed his fall to the point the he didn't sustain any major injuries, but it could have ended differently. He could have been permanently disabled or even worse, he could have left his wife and two daughters forever.

I'll be honest about the way I feel. If you have anyone that loves you and you choose not wear a harness, you are just being 100% selfish and you need to re-evaluate what is important to you. There's really no excuse not to wear one. They are required to accompany any stand you buy, so everyone that has a stand should have a harness. Granted, the ones supplied with the stands usually suck, but they will save your life none the less.

Even forgetting your harness at home when you get to your stand is a pain, If I forget my harness I will use my bow rope, and make something work, so that if I fall, it will catch me enough to try crawling down or so.

That will never work. If you forget your harness just hunt on the ground.

This is awesome of the OP to do. Good stuff.
