What do you think? Buddy and I filmed him couple night ago. If I thought he would die, we would have shot him. What do you think? Should we not have let him pass?

Unless he dies from an infection then he will live.

He seemed to be getting around pretty good, I would guess he would recover.

Yeah he's fine. That injury looks like it was early in the season. Looks like someone tried shooting him really close to their stand or was quite a bit above him

The amazing part is they didn't get his spine!

I'd wager he'll be fine. They're tough as nails.
I'd have let him go as well, he's too little to be shot anyway...if I'm going to have to take time to dress a deer I'm going to make sure the sob is big enough to supply some meat.

Yeah he's too small for us too. Just I thought he would suffer I would have given up the tag. I'm thinking he'll be fine too. Kind of fun to see if he makes it to 3 or 4 years old!

I think he might be injured from the youth rifle season. I know there was a buck injured in our area at that time.

I also find it so interesting how there is that area in a deer being infamous in lost deer. Just below spine and just above vitals. I know I've hit one there once wth my bow. Possibly lived too???

Looks like the buck I skimmed the bottom of last week and never got blood on

As long as he doesn't get an infection he will probably be fine

Hard to say if he'll make it. But it looks recent. My guess is an arrow.

I think that arrow/shot went above the spine. Well spinal cord. I'd say I broke some of his spinal processes at the top. I still think it was a steep angle but I'm not sold its below the spine. I think it's still fascinating it didn't take out his spinal cord! Must have been a small broadhead. I think that deer drops if it were shot with a gun
