As my brother and I were going in this morning we saw an albino deer in one of the fields, I told him I thought it was a buck. As we are walking out of our stand I checked the trail cam and had this on it. Pretty cool ImageUploadedByBowhunting.com Forums1446220111.671983.jpg

You allowed to shoot Albino in your state? I know Iowa has a NO kill on albino deer...

I think you should be able to shoot them anywhere. Just my opinion but I think if given the chance you should shoot them to get rid of those genes. I wouldn't want a bunch of white deer running around. But again it's just my opinion.

I ran across this one while turkey hunting this past spring. Watched it for nearly an hour.

What is the reasoning on that? I don't get it...

No we aren't, and I think they are cool but the chances of one being born are 1 in 20000 so it's not like there will ever be a sustained population of white deer

Biologically there is no reason behind it. The protection of albino deer is more of a political decision to please the public at large. People don't like when you kill their "special" or "pretty" animals.

There will never be a bunch of albino deer running around. Natural selection takes care of that with their nonexistent camo. Predators can see them to easily.

I guess I never thought about that. There were three albino deer (two bucks and one doe) around my grandma's land when I was very little and I never seen one until about three years ago.

In tomahawk by our area we have two albinos that are like celebrities. People treat em like unicorns! If one was hit by a car or shot accidentally we'd have another Cecil the lion case on our hands. They are neat though! :tu:

We've got this piebald that stays about 100-500 yards on private property next to the national forest land I hunt on occasion. Its a doe but man I would love to get a shot at her for a rug.
