I hardly post and mostly lurk in the forums but I wanted to share my first bow kill with like minded folks. I decided to go pull my card on the piece I have between a bedding and feeding ground. I was stoked to see I have a few does and a big buck using the area which happened to be 20 yards from my stand. These deer had been moving fairly well the last few days, the buck a lot at dusk following the does I would assume. I decided to give it a sit last night and that's where it gets good. Movement started around 16:30 with a bobcat strolling through but no deer. Around 17:00 I heard an unfamiliar noise to my right. To my excitement it was the buck I had pics over the last few days. He stepped out at 35 with no shot and shortly turned to go back to the bedding area. I started to panic and hit my doe bleat at the last second in my pocket. Quite and enough to turn him around! Over the course of the next 40 minutes he slowly walked to my my shooting lane. As he turned his head I drew back, my arrow vibrated as I hit the wall of my bow and his head snapped towards me but it was to late. I already had my sight picture and hit my release. I hit him 8 inches above the white of his belly and it exited on the white brown line the other side. He ran 50 yards and expired. It was such and amazing experiance and a hunt I will never forget!!! It took me at least 20 minutes to calm down enough to get out of my stand!!! Sorry for the long post, you all know the feeling and excitement.
