Well it finally happened today. I was out in the same sit I missed a doe in last thursday, hadn't seen a deer there since. By the way Im not proud of this but it was a new property this year and it ended up being a "this looks like a good spot" kind of deal. So after I missed the doe by hitting a vine in my shooting lane, I moved the stand back in the woods about 10 more yards, Im in a strip of woods in-between two fields that is only about 50-60 yards wide. So this was my first morning set in this new tree, about an hour after daylight I had just sat down to give my legs a break and I look to my north and a large buck jumped over a log and stared trotting my way, this all happened so fast it was amazing. He go behind some brush and I grabbed the bow stood up and drew back, he came out of the brush and was quartering away at about 10-15 yards. I stopped him and THWACK!!! the Shwacker did its job. The arrow didn't go the whole way through the deer but busted out behind the other shoulder. The buck nearly dropped over from the shot but he took off running. So after 30 minutes in the stand I got down and found some bright red blood with bubbles in it, Then I left the woods made some breakfast and came back about a half an hour later. I took up the trail and it wasn't hard to follow at all I had a bright red carpet to follow through the woods the buck ended up only going about 60 yards and he was stiff when I found him. Anyway this was an amazing day, The biggest buck Ive ever shot, can't wait to take him to the taxidermist later this week definitely going to get a shoulder mount done. Sorry the story wasn't longer it all happened within about 15 seconds, it was incredible!!!
