Hey everyone. I finally got my first 10 pointer on camera and I am pretty excited. I don't get too excited about age and score nor am I good at judging it, however I wanted to share a couple photos of him and wonder what everyone's take on his age and score. IMO I think he is 3.5 year old and will be pushing like 110? Am I wrong?

Is he just a decent 2.5 yo? I didn't think they could get that big.

Organizing my photos in photobucket must have made the photos disappear. I re added them with a couple new ones.

That buck is older then 2.5 .... 3.5 or 4.5 most likely will score just about 120

I was trying to learn through a bit of reading on the difference between a 2.5 and 3.5 yo and even with pictures it was really hard for me to tell the difference.

Look at the width of the shoulders and brisket in comparison to the bucks neck. That's clue number one that he isn't 2.5.
The second is the sag in its belly and the third is the shoulder line compared the back line. Way to broad for a 2.5 year old buck in early October.

I'd say at least 3.5 or 4 look at the neck..he might score 115

Exactly my thoughts, for sure not a 2.5. He is a 3.5 or possibly could be 4.5, around 120"

most def it is a 3.5 or older. that is very common for up here im assuming that buck is up here in northern wi. we just have no food or genetics to grow very many big ones. go get him bud.

Could not agree more. Go up to Sawyer county WI..... it takes bucks 5 years to get to 130 inches.... totally sucks. We have little to no Ag fields and brutal winters which is the cause of this. We send our teeth in to get exact aging every year. So frustrating that it takes that many years to get a buck to decent size

I agree with the 3.5+ age and around 120" estimate.

My guess is 3.5. In my area of NW WI. it is hard to grow big antlers since they have tough winters and not high quality nutrition. I have taken 5.5 year old bucks that don't make the books.

The genetics are here in the north but not the nutrition. We had a few bad winters so they were poorly developed but there has also been more logging lately so deer are filling and and antler development is improving. It would help if we could get the USFS to do more habitat work though.

A lot of people are guessing 2.5. I think he is most likely a 3.5, he definitely isn't filled out in the front quarters yet. If that is a 2.5 year old, he is going to explode into a really nice buck in the next year or two! I'd say he is right around 120"...

I don't blame you! He wouldn't get the pass from me either.
