Just had my 2nd camera stolen in young season! I'm on private land so nobody has the right to be on here and I'm dam sure nobody has the right to take something that doesn't belong to them! I'm here looking for a solution to this problem. Now not only they have my cameras they now know it's a hell of a spot! So far I only had 3 does and probably 15-20 different bucks on them. Was wondering if anyone hung them up high in the tree and have them pointed down? Any ideas would be appreciated!

Hanging one up high pointing down on another camera is what a lot of people are going to suggest.
Sorry about it. That really sucks.

    Stage the set up.

Find someone, maybe someone here has one, with a broken camera. Put the brokem camera on a tree, trying to not make it obvious it's a set up. Put up another camera in a safe out of sight/reach area and try to catch them in the act.

    Thieves suck

So tired of having cameras stolen off private property. First year in a long time I decided to leave the cams in the closet and back to the good old way of being surprised by what's there.

We've done the hang one up high before. Usually works.

It was some kind of a paint booby trap or something.

That's pretty funny, but I don't think it's legal anywhere to set up a booby-trap of any kind.

HANG THEM HIGH!!! I had a couple stolen last year. Now I take a 6 foot ladder and hang them about 12 feet off the ground. It makes for some unique pics, but it works. You can also setup a dummy cam and catch them in the act.

    Pic from 12 feet up.

I use these to hang my camera. Made by Bushnell.

I use a python lock and pad lock. The python lock secures it to the tree while the pad lock keeps the cover/door locked. Seems to be working on both public and private land.
