We have one male puppy still for sale from our August litter. The pup is seven weeks old. We can fly them all over the county or meet somewhere in the middle where it would apply. If you are interested or know someone who is, please give them our info. There is a link to our website in my signature. If you could help us sell this puppy we would appreciate it. PM me with more questions and information. Since some of this stuff came up and I failed to address it. We own the grand parents and mother of this litter. The father came from my dads male and female and their son was bred to my female. We have owned all of our dogs as hunting dogs and family companions. It was shortly after buying our first white lab Cosmo in 2001 that I told my dad we should get a female and breed her with Cosmo. This would supplement my college fund. Cosmo passed away only a few weeks ago. All of our dogs are healthy and almost all of the puppies are healthy. If any shows up that links back to us we try and make it right with the owner and the dog. Our dogs are great hunting dogs and companions. They have had 100's of pheasant, ducks and geese shot over them and have consoled us through hard times as a family. This puppy would make a great addition to your home and we would be happy to work something out.
It appears the Web page is down. We'll work on getting it fixed. You can also search us on facebook at landherr labradors.http://https://m.facebook.com/pages/Landherr-Labradors/163120873718123
I'll keep you in mind, we'll be looking for a white female in a year or two. Oddly enough I flew my GSP from Minnesota to VT as well.
Also keep you in mind in the future. Puppy just isn't an option right now but someday. What do you charge for females?
Never buy a dog based on price, you are potentially asking for a disaster in the long run. Check for breeders with health checks on their dogs, especially sporting breeds. Here is an example from a friends kennel who I have owned dogs from before taking in rescue dogs only. She has generations of health records going back nearly 20 years on her kennel lines. I truly think it is ridiculous for any breeder to charge what they do for "Pure Bred" dogs if they don't invest in knowing that they are raising healthy bloodlines free of Hip, Eye, Heart and Cancer problems. I know this but there's a difference between $500 and $2000. I sure don't need an expensive companion. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
You can get a quality Labrador from a quality kennel for 1,000-1,200 from blood lines free of issues that will cost you Thousands of dollars in the long run. I have several friends that have had to put dogs that were way too young because of health problems after spending thousands. It is your call but telling the kids their 7 year old dog is gone because of Health Issues doesn't go over well, I have seen it first hand.
Especially if they like rescue dogs, my wife spent over 10k on three surgeries for our Lab mix who had Cancer:/
She's the one begging to get a dog too; so yes, you're right, she's the expensive companion! In all honesty I'd love to get one right now but growing up on a farm and now having a house in town only a mile from our farm (albeit only 800 population) I'm not ready to have one in town right now.
Ouch! Ours wasn't that bad. We happened to walk into a pet store and they had this one "papered" Golden Retriever pup there that was very sick. One look told you she wasn't going to last much longer. My wife asked if we could see it and they brought it out to us. It had blood coming out it's backside and it was in serious trouble. My wife said "We can't leave her here", so we ended up spending the $900 they wanted for it and that was just the beginning. By the time she was healthy we'd spent well over $3000 in vet bills. She only lived to seven, but we gave her a good life. The memory of that dog that still sticks with me to this day was when we put her in the car. I backed out of the parking space and hadn't even made it out of the parking lot when that sickly pup took a big, runny dump all over the back seat of the car. I've field dressed gut-shot deer that didn't reek that bad. I almost puked right there on the spot. I drove all the way home in Virginia Beach traffic with my face partially out the window.
This is my ******* neighbor.... Our city had a heads up that she was coming and they did nothing about it. It's honestly hell living next to her. There is constant dog barking (has over 25) and the cops do nothing. The only time anything was done was when I called the county sheriff after one was barking for a couple hours straight from 10-12 at night.. http://www.southernminn.com/faribau...cle_5da8e3a1-73fd-543d-8a92-2031576e8af5.html
